他于2018年被考入德国魏玛李斯特音乐学院，攻读歌剧演唱硕士学位。自2017年以来，他一直在向世界著名的女高音歌手伊娃·兰多瓦（EvaRandová）学习，他是布拉格国际歌剧院的前经理兼BBC卡迪夫声乐比赛的评委。 

在德国期间，他参加了许多歌剧和音乐会。

Li Cheng, a young Chinese singer currently pursuing his studies in Germany, won the third prize in the song contest and the Barenreiter Prize, during the 54th Antonin Dvorak's International Singing Competition.

A total of 105 singers from 17 countries competed in the fields of opera, junior and song during this year's Antonin Dvorak's Singing Competition.

Founded in 1966, the famed international competition is held annually in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. It is sponsored by the International Antonin Dvorak Vocal Centre.

Li is the only Chinese singer to reach the final and win the prize. He is also the first Chinese to win a prize in the song contest since the competition was founded 54 years ago, and the third Chinese to win the prize in this competition.

The young tenor has a Bachelor's degree in Zhejiang Conservatory of Music and continued advanced studies in Germany after graduation in 2015.

He was admitted to the Liszt School of Music Weimar in Germany in 2018, to study for a master's degree in opera singing. Since 2017, he has been learning from Eva Randová, a world-renowned mezzo-soprano, former manager of Prague international opera house and judge of BBC Cardiff vocal competition.

During his time in Germany, he participated in many operas and concerts.
